First 1000 Days of Life is a period of opportunity when the foundations for optimal health, growth, and neurodevelopment across the entire life span are laid. However, malnutrition can lead to premature death and significant morbidity, such as poor health. According to UNICEF, at least 200 million children living in developing countries fail to fulfill their development potential.

In Indonesia, by 2020, more than two million children suffer from malnutrition and more than seven children under the age of 5 years are stunted. This can be caused by lack of understanding about balanced nutrition. It should also be understood that a child’s health is not only determined by what they consume but also how the mother’s nutrition is fulfilled during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Another issue that is quite common in the community is the pride of parents when giving their children formula milk in the first 6 months after the birth of their child, where at that age, the best intake for children is exclusive breastfeeding. This problem can affect the future of the Indonesian nation. Then, who can start from to fix this problem?

SCORA together with SCOPH CIMSA UPH, held an event called MANTRAXHGN (Maintaining Antenatal and Postpartum Care X Hari Gizi Nasional). This event was held with the aim of educating parents, as well as prospective parents to understand the importance of fulfilling nutrition in the First 1000 Days of Life, which starts from conception. Held on January 22th, 2022, to January 29th, 2022, with a series of LPET for SCORA CIMSA UPH members, air campaign, and main events in the form of webinar and talk show. LPET was presented by Kak Andrea Pasha Josephine with a material presentation. The air campaign was held for 6 days using Instagram and focused on maternal health and balanced nutrition. We also demonstrated how to make complementary foods for breastmilk. In the main activity, there is a webinar about Antenatal and Postpartum Care by dr. Julita Dortua Laurentina BR. Nainggolan, Sp.OG, and talk show about Stunting and Malnutrition (The Importance of First 1000 Days of Life) by dr. Andry Juliansen, Sp.A and Pak AnthonnyAdiputra as speakers, and Kak Rizki Aulia Febriana as moderators.

It is hoped that through this event people will become more aware about the importance of the First Thousand Days of Life and be able to face the problem about malnutrition and stunting seriously.
